SAT & ACT Teacher Training & Test Prep Course Instruction
A-List's professional development program involves members of our staff setting up training sessions with your faculty in order to give teachers a solid grounding in the content of the SAT and/or ACT and techniques for improving student performance on the tests.
The biggest hurdle most teachers face is a lack of familiarity with the tests. Most teachers simply have not had much experience with the SAT and ACT, and thus do not understand the nature of what the tests expect of students. Every teacher has his or her own teaching methods and styles, but we can give teachers a complete understanding of the tests, so they can make informed decisions about how to integrate the material. A-List training focuses on providing teachers with three crucial elements:
- Knowledge of the format and content of the test
- The most effective techniques for answering questions
- An understanding of how to properly diagnose student errors
All of A-List's teachers pass through our rigorous SAT and ACT training program. Our senior staff has over 10 years of experience preparing instructors from disparate educational backgrounds to teach the SAT. We have spent countless hours analyzing the test and are constantly tracking any modifications made by the College Board. We have used that knowledge to work with thousands of students to help them get exceptional scores. The program outlined below will impart the requisite core knowledge to successfully teach for the test.
