Program Manager (Boston)

A-List Education is seeking a part-time Program Manager for our Boston location. This role will oversee the day-to-day operations of our Direct Instruction and Individual Tutoring programs. In addition to managing the programs, it is a plus if the candidate can teach group classes and private tutoring, as needed.

A-List runs approximately 10-15 school programs in Boston public schools during the academic year in which we provide SAT / ACT test preparation classes. The Program Manager is responsible for being the primary contact with the schools in coordinating and managing the programs, managing existing and hiring new teachers for the program, and managing data related to the programs. It is a plus if the Program Manager can teach classes, if needed. In addition, A-List has a small private tutoring business in the Boston area, and this person will manage the private clients and tutors.

The role would suit a person that has an educational background and project management experience as well as an interest in helping grow a company by ensuring everything runs extremely smoothly. If the person is interested in teaching some classes, training is provided for SAT/ACT instruction, customized to fit A-List’s curriculum.

Program Management:
  • Responsible for maintaining high-level of customer service with our school clients and representing the A-List brand to prospective clients
  • Work with clients to set up programs, coordinate training, and assign instructors
  • Manage and be able to answer questions regarding A-List’s client-facing systems (e.g., class rosters, score reports)
  • Track client balances, communicate billing procedures, and send client invoices
Business Development:
  • Identify new opportunities for partnerships/tutoring
  • Network with education organizations/schools throughout the Boston area
Tutoring & Direct Instruction:
  • Perform school site visits to check in on programs, students, and teachers
  • Prepare materials for teachers, such as printing practice exams, scantrons, and lesson plans
  • Enter and track students’ scores from real & practice tests and prepare progress reports
  • Speak with potential clients, track new client information, and assign clients to appropriate tutor
  • Manage a group of tutors by coordinating schedules for appointments, assigning new clients, tracking progress, and weekly check-ins
  • Track client balances, communicate billing procedures, and send client invoices.
  • Graduated from a top-tier school
  • Must be highly organized and have great attention to detail
  • Scored at least 2100 the SAT; i.e., 700+ Math, Reading, Writing (or 31+ on the ACT).
  • Be able to teach ALL 3 sections of the SAT and ALL 4 sections of the ACT
  • Have experience in education (not necessarily with the SAT or ACT)
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office); familiarity with Salesforce is a plus
  • Previous experience with program management/coordination
