Courtney is a graduate of Georgetown University and a native of Long Island’s North Shore. She grew up competing in Long Island’s rigorous horse show circuit and renewed her verve for competition upon returning to New York after college. Courtney is a lifelong writer with many publications to her credit, most notably the short piece “Uncle Ayman’s Hot Dog Stand,” which appears in the W.W. Norton Anthology Lost and Found: Stories from New York. The piece is reviewed by New York Magazine, among others. Courtney graduated from Georgetown with an M.A. in British Literature, for which she focused on gender studies in texts from the Early Modern through the Victorian eras. She is thrilled to have the opportunity to engage with students who are preparing for higher education.
