Bowdoin College (Neuroscience and Visual Arts)

Erin D’Agostino, a native Long-Islander, graduated Magna Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa from Bowdoin College. She completed majors in Neuroscience and Visual Arts, pursuing her dual interest in science and art. She was the Head Academic Mentor for the Bowdoin Center for Learning, tutoring other college students primarily in executive functioning skills. Following her interest in the brain and learning, she then taught Chemistry, Biology, and English at The Landmark School, a high school for students with Language Based Learning Disabilities. She has completed a year of a Masters in Special Education from Simmons. She has also worked with children at a Neuropsychological Orphanage in Russia and with Albert Einstein’s Children’s Evaluation and Rehabilitation Center. She is currently applying to medical school with the intention of one day becoming a Pediatric Neurologist, and as a result has an acute understanding of the emotional journey involved in any application process. Erin continues to be fascinated by the capabilities of the brain and by the learning process, and through teaching hopes to share her love of learning.
