Kyra Atekwana graduated from Harvard University with a BA in Social Anthropology with highest honors, and received the 2014 Kluckhohn Senior Thesis Prize. Over her four years, she developed a passion for teaching and mentorship, beginning with a 10-week stint as a volunteer English teacher in Costa Rica the summer after her freshman year. During the remainder of her time at Harvard, Kyra was the Program Coordinator for the Writing and Public Service Initiative, a program geared toward mentoring Boston high school students in their college application essays. Her love for teaching and mentorship also brought her to Harvard Student Agencies (HSA) where Kyra worked as an SAT/ACT tutor and a college admissions essay advisor. During her time at HSA, Kyra also helped develop HSA’s first ACT curriculum, and full-length ACT practice test materials. In addition to educational interests, Kyra was heavily involved in the Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatic Club as a performer, music director, composer, and occasional seamstress.
