Phil is a proud Brooklynite, originally hailing from Bensonhurst. He attended Regis High School, where he was heavily involved in the Speech and Debate team, as well as Student Government, track, and several mentoring and service groups. A perfect score on his SAT led Phil to Harvard University, where he studied English Literature and Dramatic Arts, and performed in over 20 shows with the Harvard-Radcliffe Dramatic Club, the Hasty Pudding Theatricals, and professional Boston theaters. In his moments outside of the theater, Phil was also a producer, writer and actor for faux-news-show On Harvard Time, as well as a member of the Signet Society, the Crimson Key Society, and the Freshman Arts Program.

Before joining A-List, Phil tutored for the SAT, ACT, SSAT, several other acronymic exams, and college admissions preparation for four years, working with over 100 students. Phil has guided students through every aspect of the college admissions process, including developing lists of schools, writing essays, and preparing applications. He is proud to say that he’s helped students find their way to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, and many other top schools.

As an actor, Phil has performed Off-Broadway and on stages across the country. He is a proud member of Actors’ Equity Association, and has also appeared in various films and TV shows. He has returned to Brooklyn, and hopes to enjoy a long acting career, perhaps even one day playing a character over the age of 20.

“Phil Cillo was an excellent ACT tutor. He made sure my daughter worked to her full potential, was patient, funny, and made ACT preparation as enjoyable as it can be. It was a pleasure to work with him. He truly cared!”
