Training Supervisor/Senior Tutor
Subject Specialties: SAT/ACT, SAT Subject Test (Math I & II, Literature, Biology)
Anita graduated from Drexel University summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Engineering, specialising in tissue engineering and biomaterials. She then went on to complete a Masters of Science in Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology from the University of California, San Diego. She now serves as both a senior tutor and training manager at A-List, where she brings over seven years of experience tutoring standardised tests. Anita’s students consistently make great improvements, a testament to the incredible support she offers and confidence she instills in them.
Even though Anita has always been involved in educational pursuits, from lecturing on marine life at the National Aquarium in Baltimore to helping early secondary school kids have a voice in ethics at a National Science Festival, her passion for being a teacher wasn’t properly cemented until her role as a teaching assistant for a laboratory techniques course in graduate school. Since then, Anita has worked in mainstream schools in both the US and UK, helping a range of students across a spectrum of learning difficulties and nationalities.
Outside the classroom, Anita has always been heavily involved in extra-curricular activities that help build student confidence: an extreme sports recreational programme, a global news curriculum to allow isolated groups access cultural insights, a news programme with student anchors and a museum visits programme for students with physical disabilities. Her ultimate role in helping underprivileged communities access a higher quality of education came when she helped startup up a school in a deprived borough of East London under the government’s free school programme.
Outside of education, Anita volunteers with a number of international organisations and writes for a traveling website. That is, of course, when she isn’t biking, horse riding or kayaking.
From Our Tutoring Clients
A-List’s tutors are excellent. The A-List Book of Knowledge textbook helped IMMENSELY, and condensed all the topics in very understandable ways. The college counsellors have many years of expertise in the field, and can help you find a range of schools that are tailored to your requirements. I would recommend getting assistance from A-List to anyone who wants to study in the USA.
