Director of Outreach & Director University Advisor
Murphy brings highly relevant experience to the university advising team at A-List UK, having worked for a cross-section of selective higher education institutions in the United States. Murphy was originally exposed to college admissions during his time as a student tour guide at Pitzer College, a member of the Claremont Consortium, outside of Los Angeles. He really enjoyed the prospect of helping students through the application process, so much so that his first job after graduation was an admissions counselor role at Pitzer. There, he recruited and evaluated applications from all over the US.
Looking for a more global experience, Murphy was drawn to the admissions office at The Savannah College of Art & Design (SCAD), where he represented their global campuses in Savannah, Atlanta, Hong Kong and Lacoste and learned the intricacies of admissions at a selective art school.
After his time at SCAD, Murphy settled in his hometown of Washington, DC to join the admissions team at The George Washington University, where he managed the on campus visit experience, worked with students from the Middle East, Africa, United Kingdom and Delaware and pursued his Master’s.
In his work at A-List UK, Murphy is passionate about working with globally minded students on their applications to universities in the US. He holds his Bachelor of Arts degree in Education & Child Development from Pitzer College and his Master of Arts degree in Education & Human Development from The George Washington University. In his free time, Murphy likes to jog and explore new cities and cultures.

“Murphy is very knowledgeable about the application process and university expectations. He kept our daughters very organised, and us, as parents, very well informed. He has a super caring attitude, and had a big impact on our oldest daughter’s admission to the very challenging school of her choice. Couldn’t say nicer things about Murphy. Thank you! Looking forward to launching the remaining daughters!”

From Our Tutoring Clients
A-List’s tutors are excellent. The A-List Book of Knowledge textbook helped IMMENSELY, and condensed all the topics in very understandable ways. The college counsellors have many years of expertise in the field, and can help you find a range of schools that are tailored to your requirements. I would recommend getting assistance from A-List to anyone who wants to study in the USA.

Thank you for helping prepare him for the SAT and SAT Subject Tests over the past 15 months. He found it incredibly valuable and effective.
